The HobbitHouse Illustrated Glossary of Woodworking terms
with extensive (hyperlink) cross-references for ease of use
I have collected these definitions from many sources but I have rewritten (or at the very least re-worded)
all of them, so any lack of clarity in these definitions is entirely my fault, and I would be happy to
receive any suggestions for clarification and/or corrections to anything I've gotten wrong. If
I've left out something you think should be here, let me know and I'll see about putting it in.
My thanks to Wood Scientist Scotty Drye for advice and corrections on numerous technical terms
and to my daughter Alexandria for many, many hours of editing grammar and typos
and making helpful suggestions for clarifications.

A WORK IN PROGRESS
To date, I have entered over 3600 terms and almost 1000 illustrations but I have many hundreds more terms to go.
The focus so far has been on the "wood" portion of "woodworking", plus construction terms, and
I've done a fair amount on that part but I'm only part way into the terms that have more
to do with the "working" part (tools, fasteners, shaping, finishing,
etc ... it's a VERY long list)
PLEASE let me know if you spot any errors. Thanks.
to email me:
Sorry, but you can't click on that --- I already get 300+ spam emails a day and posting
the email address in a way that can be picked up by spider-bots would just make it worse.
