As indicated by the brand on this wood, this is from a pallet made in Mexico.

David Clark obtained, and loaned to me, a batch of various woods marked this way.

They were all identified at the Xylarium of Veracruz which is attached to
the University of Veracruz, Mexico. Formally, this government-run institute is:


        Instituto de Ecología, A.C. - INECOL
        Xalapa, Veracruz
        Mexico

Thus these is not random pallet woods but rather
specifically identified species.
