redheart exposure series

raw

exposed for 11 days with the right side exposed to direct sunlight (behind window glass) for several hours a day and the left side covered --- yeah, OK, I know I was supposed to do these every WEEK, not every 11 days, but several of my brain cells having to do with memory seem to have malfunctioned that week.

one month

7 weeks

2 months --- color correction has lightened the red tint a little too much on both sides

3 months

2 years 9 months, but after 3 months the piece was put in my basement which has very limited indirect sunlight and no incandescent light, just flourescent. Note that both sides have faded a little more, supporting reports that this wood is highly subject to color fade. I DO, however, have pieces with UV-blocking polyurethane on them that have retained their color for years of exposre to indirect sunlight.
