when these pictures were taken, the bowl had one coat of natural stain as a sealant and the holes in the top for the dried flowers had not yet been drilled


In the left pic is a laminate of bocote, walnut, and hard maple all over aromatic red cedar.
In the right pic is narra between pieces of padauk.
The base is African mahogany, two types of makore, and hard maple veneer


In the right pic is tulipwood over ash, over aromatic red cedar. In both the left and right pics you see a wood that has a high contrast between early and late growth and that's sen (Japanese ash)
