this bowl has had one coat of natural stain


left pic front is a walnut crotch piece
right pic is top view showing, from the top and going clockwise around the rim, macassar ebony, walnut crotch, hard maple veneer, aromatic red cedar, bocote, pine, walnut, cocobolo (a dark variety), paela (the lumber, not a burl), back to the cocobolo, then cypress, a lamination of 4 thin pieces of ash separated by honduras mahogany veneer, then walnut and back to the macassar ebony. In the center from the top is the macassar ebony, then pau amerello, walnut, a thin piece of bocote, tulipwood, ash, padauk, osage orange, mahogany veneer, osage orange, padauk, purpleheart, mahogany, a lamination of hard maple and mahogany veneer, another mahogany thin, and then down to the cocobolo and paela. The verticals on the right are redheart and aromatic red cedar.
